The Origami Serie on YouTube

There are numbers of things that can be done with paper. Make it plain white paper or make it fancy present paper, a page from a book, an advertising flyer. Literally any kind of paper.
Some of these things you can do are very fascinating. Like origami, the Japanese art of folding paper.
For this purpose is best to use not too thick but firm paper, so that it doesn't rip while you are folding it in the most unthinkable way but still it can be folded because it is not as hard as a wood piece.
That said, grab a page from yesterday's newspaper and get on watching episodes on my The Origami Serie on YouTube.
It starts today with a prologue and will take you to a different story with a different item to fold and craft every week.
Japanese origami artists can create anything with just folding the paper. Some items require additional tools, like scissors or pencils, but most traditional subjects need paper and hands only.

Here is a link to the playlist to watch all episodes starting with the Prologue.
Otherwise, you can watch the Prologue directly from this page and jump later to the episode of your interest.
Episodes are listed below.

Episodes’ list:
Prologue
Sumo Fighters
Jumping Frogs
Collared Shirts

This page will constantly be updated with new links and utilities related to Origami crafting. Add it to your bookmarks, or share it on your Social Media’s!

Quarantine Routine: Wake up and have breakfast

Breakfast and routine good practice for quarantine. Siemgirl

Will you go on a trip driving a car with an empty tank?
Probably not, unless you know for sure there is a gas station on your way that is close enough.
Same, will you start your day without having breakfast? No way, right?
It is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that a human body assumes big part of the calories and energy needed for the day during this first meal: the breakfast.
How much of this is scientific truth and how much of it it is not.....that is not important to me. I had my experiences and believe that breakfast is a need that comes immediately in our daily activities. This is why we have breakfast right after waking up.
The menu can be different depending if it is a weekday or a weekend.
During quarantine, but in general during long periods at home (vacation or sickness) it is important to still keep track of the time and structure the days with different activities. Especially young children who do not distinguish yet on their own what time of the day or what day of the week it is, it is important to give them regularity and cycles so that they know exactly what day it is.
As for the breakfast, we eat milk with cereals from monday to friday. And drink water, milk or juice.
We eat something fancier like bread with chocolate cream, a croissant, a pastry or sweet cookies on weekends; while drinking water, milk or juice. This makes the breakfast during weekends special and different from what we have on weekdays. Even luxurious, if the kids don't get the chance to eat sweets too much during the week.
This way, a young child will always be able to tell if it is a weekday or weekend since the very start of the day.
For me it plays a big role not to offer sweets and festive menus too often. We are home to follow rules and preserve health, not to have a vacation.

For further ideas about quarantine, to know how I structure my days, visit the Quarantine daily routine structure article and visit other activities from there. Other than breakfast, there are inspirations for morning and afternoon activities with children.

Daily routine under quarantine

Lovely readers!
It is pretty popular to post about what we do or don't do daily these days. So why not tell you how I structure my days? Of course, every single day there is an exception here or there, but keeping track of a daily timeflow is best.
Since I live in Germany, my daily routine adjusts to local regulations. Different countries or even different regions may or may not be allowed to do what I do on a daily basis.

Especially if you live with kids, it is important to have structure they can stick to, plus being able to have a set time for specific things and do homework or educational activities at least once a day (depending on the age of the kids).
Some items are self explaining, for some other I will explain more into details what that means for us. Feel free to ask questions in the comments section or to contact me on social media for direct questions and suggestions. I would appreciate if there is interest about any of the activities, I can write more posts with detailed descriptions or tutorial videos.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Der Readers, I finally had some time to go to the cinema again and watched X-Men: Dark Phoenix before it gets taken out of projection.
If you want to hear my honest opinion, I wouldn't say it is totally worth it and a must-watch movie. It has his interesting sides but it can't compete with a few more movies that came out around the same time. That doesn't make it a B-movie, but sure is if you can choose among a wide range of options, you will pick another movie instead of this.
Additional information about myself is that I am not too fond of the X-Men world. For this reason might be that some details have not been recognized by me while watching the movie as I don't know the whole background story.
The plot is simple:
X-Men troup goes out in space to save a human spaceship which lost control orbiting around some energy field. Hearing what the X-Men say, this is the first time they go out in space, and nonetheless they go to save some humans before even having done tests if they and their technology are able to survive out there.
Trying to save everyone, Jean gets exposed to the energy, absorbing it in herself to avoid the explosion.
Mission complete. Everyone safe.
But, is it really safe for Jean to have all that new unknown energy in herself? Can she control it?
Answered soon enough: no. She can't really control this much power, gets scared and runs away. Meanwhile, an unidentified number of aliens reaches Earth and plans to get rid of all humans and inherit the planet. They felt the presence of the most powerful creature of Earth and plan to convince her to help them get rid of the humans, or maybe just absorb the power from her.
Jean is scared as she by accident hurts her friends, even killing one of the X-Men by accident. And this leads to a break between the X-Men themselves. Some want to take her down and get revenge, labeling her as dangerous and uncontrolled. The other half wants to take her back, bringing her back to the family accepting the powers or eventually find a way to get rid of them for good.
The two groups clash but eventually come back together when they discover the aliens' plan. They somehow avoid that the alien leader absorbs all Jean's power, fighting them untill Jean herself finds the best way to win and leave heart and its inhabitants in peace. An heroic move, but it brings sadness to the whole group of X-Men, especially Xavier and moreover Scott.

If it weren't the X-Men, but any random group of unknown superheroes created just for the movie, the movie would still be enjoyable. Maybe more enjoyable as you don't expect anything too great from that than entertainment.
I was probably expecting too much. It is a Marvel branded movie, automatically lots of other productions involved.
The plot is simple enough that anyone can enjoy the movie without any previous knowledge. Which is a good thing.
I found it lacking of introspection and development for the characters. The only character that has some kind of development is Xavier, who realizes how selfish he has actually been while convincing himself he is doing what he is doing for the others. The idea of what is right or wrong is very subjective. And lies told with good intentions might have to be revealed eventually before it is too late or they get uncovered by accident.
He probably was right at the beginning of his journey, but his school and programs got so big that he has to revise his doings and his way of thinking. What he drastically does in the end of the movie.
I watched the movie in "standard", which is how German theaters label the non 3D movies. I just don't enjoy the 3D part, it makes the images in front of my eyes loud and distracting. I want to concentrate on the photography and acting skills.
Since I lack the comparison with the 3D version, I am just hoping the cheap sfx of the 2D version are because they invested more money to make the 3D version look decent. Especially the thunders coming out from Storm's hands looked very cheap made in my opinion. Many computer effects, post effects and little details looked less impressive than what I am used to. All those big names on the screen before it starts, and low investing into production. Interesting.
I have been questioning myself about the death of some charachters, and also got curious if the movie storyline alignes with the comicbooks or has its own storyline growing parallel.

To know more about what I found out with my researches and my opinions on the other aspects if the movie, consider joining my Patreon for further articles and a longer review of the movies I watched. Thank you!
